Minutes of January 29, 2008 LATWCA Board Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM by Frank Pitts

Board members present: Paul Davis, Frank Pitts, Christopher Harrison and David Glover.

Board member(s) absent: Mark Gettis

LATWCA residents present: Fran Bastress, Mike Armel

Fran provided update on landscaping projects and requested money for landscaping for 2008 including planting bushes at several locations (details available from Fran).  David motioned for $500 to be allocated from Landscaping Improvements in budget for Fran’s landscaping projects.  Christopher seconded and all voted in favor.

Board discussed Fairfax County leash laws being applicable to LATWCA.  Frank to look into obtaining signs that can be posted.

Fran presented suggestions for communications improvements to residents (details available from Fran).

Christopher presented proposal for stair rail in front of 11032 for resident and is seeking contractor bids.

Roberta’s house recognized by board for best Christmas decorations. 

Frank raised issue of potential need to collect on delinquent HOA payments in the future (currently not an issue) and will reach out to lawyer to discuss process.

Frank presented LATWCA budget for 2008 – same as 2007.  David motioned to approve budget as is.  Paul seconded and all voted in favor.

Frank stated that 1 x $10,000 CD is up for rollover and recommended that $20,000 be moved from money market to 2 x $10,000 CD for higher interest rate.  Christopher motioned to rollover CD and move $20,000 from money markets into CD’s.  Paul seconded and all voted in favor. 

Board adjourned at 8:35 PM.
